Performance

The systems offer several automated options that make
acquisitions easy, and enhance image quality. Easy
manipulation of data facilitates rapid interpretation
and confident diagnosis for all applications.

• Compound Imaging* improves vessel wall definition,
spatial and contrast resolution.
• Speckle Reduce Imaging reduces speckle noise in
real-time, resulting in improved border definition and
tissue texture.
• Smart Depth adapts frequency, focus position and several
internal parameters automatically to the selected depth.
• Automatic Tissue and Spectrum Optimization provide
automatic optimization with one touch of a button that’s
placed well within reach.
• Mutiple Focus Control optimizes the image for excellent
resolution throughout the entire image.
• LOGIQView* permits view-wide scenarios by building up
the image while moving the probe.
• Wide Aperture* receives with two narrower beams
instead of a wider beam, creating higher lateral resolution
and better penetration.

Reach

 The Vivid S6 and S5 can reach more patients’ needs with
a wide range of tools that deliver better image quality and
quicker exam times, for increased productivity in most echo
environments. The systems offer innovative shared-service
imaging features:
• IMT provides automated calculations of intima
media thickness.
• B-Flow* allows real-time visualization of vascular
hemodynamics by directly visualizing blood reflectors,
and presenting the information in a gray-scale display.
• BFI (Blood Flow Imaging)* displays color Doppler
with speckle reflectors for better flow visualization
of hemodynamic patterns.
• Full cardiac, vascular, and OB/GYN reporting allows
customization for all modalities.
Mobility

Compatibility
The Vivid S6 and S5 are members of the Vivid family, therefore
they offer a wide range of advanced connectivity options
that can improve productivity. These include compatibility
with the EchoPAC™ PC review station, the Image Vault, DICOM
servers and DICOM printers. Removable storage media
includes DVD/CD, USB flash cards and an MO disk.
In addition, the Vivid S6 and S5 offer the ability to import the
database from a Vivid 3 or 4 system. So the existing patient
examination data and images are maintained, and new
examinations can be added.
Vivid S6 and S5 probes are compatible with the Vivid i
and Vivid e systems. The TEE probes* are also compatible
with Vivid 3 and Vivid 7.
